EJO wins at ALMA Awards 2007 Edward James Olmos has picked up two awards at this years ALMA Awards. Olmos tied in the category of 'Actor in a television series, miniseries or TV movie' with Michael Pena. Olmos won for Battlestar Galactica, while Michael Pena won for starring in Edward James Olmos' TV Movie Walkout. Olmos was also recognized for his Directing skills by winning in the category of 'Director of a television series, miniseries or TV movie' for his work on Walkout, Olmos tied with fellow Director Kenny Ortega. Olmos to Direct movie about U.S. & Mexico border issues. Edward James Olmos is set to Direct a movie based on the novel "The Crystal Frontier'' by Carlos Fuentes. The story revolves around nine intertwined stories which deal with political and Sociology issues. Shooting is set for this August, Omos may also star. In a joint statement they confirmed what fans have been expecting for quite sometime. "This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," producers said. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms."
